I read about the story of Easter today to make an Easter greeting blog update. Happy Easter to you all.

My understanding on Easter __ even Jesus who is perfect and doing good deeds all his life suffered and died for his kindness and righteousness. But good deeds, kindness and righteousness will never die and they will reborn again and again to save mankind as long as we care of Jesus and believe in his teachings. Especially, in this time of crisis, It is time to understand pain and suffering. It is crucial to notice on the importance of suffering, the importance of sacrificing, the meaning of lives and the resurrection of the goodness.

What is Easter?

Easter is a time to remember Jesus’s pain and suffering. Easter Sunday is the day of Jesus Christ’s resurrection, which is written in the New Testament of the Christian bible. Jesus Christ died after being crucified on the cross on a day called Good Friday. He was then resurrected and came back to life on Easter Sunday 19th April for this year. Easter is celebrated on the first Sunday after the full moon.

Othe Easter’s names

Eostara, the goddess of rebirth is the meaning of Easter comes from the writings of the Venerable Bede, a British monk who lived in the late seventh and early eighth century. In early times the Feast of Eostara celebrated earth’s resurrection and rebirth.

Another meaning is East which comes from older Latin word for dawn. In spring, dawns mark the beginning of days that will outlast the nights, and those dawns erupt in the east.

Easter, also called Pascha (in Greek) or Resurrection Sunday, described in the New Testament as having occurred on the third day after his burial following his crucifixion by the Romans at Calvary c. 30 AD.

In most countries in Europe, the name for Easter is derived from the Jewish festival of Passover. So Easter, also called Pascha (in Greek), Pasqua (in Italian), Paaske (in Danish), Paques (in French).

Meaning of Eggs and Rabbits

The egg, an ancient symbol of new life, has been associated with pagan festivals celebrating spring. Egg hunts and egg rolling are two popular egg-related traditions. Eggs are said to represent Jesus’s emergence from the tomb and resurrection.

The story of Easter Bunny is thought to have become common in the 19th Century. Rabbits usually give birth to many babies, so they became a symbol of new life. Legend has it that the Easter Bunny lays, decorates and hides eggs as they are also a symbol of new life.

Modern Easter

The Easter Bunnies are sometimes depicted with clothes. They carry colored eggs in their basket, candy, and toys to the homes of children as such shows similarities to Santa Claus as they both bring gifts to children on the night before their respective holidays.
